To The Editor:

Dear towns of Waitsfield and Warren:

It seems that spring is getting here for the most part and snow has pretty much melted away in The Valley. Unless you happen to visit Riverside Park, where the parking lot is covered with a half foot of snow and I immediately got stuck. (Maybe I've seen too many commercials where the car drives on snow.) I must be the only one who likes to spend time down by the river during the off-season. However, the Sugarbush snowmaking pond is accessible and so is the Lareau swimming hole. I assumed the only snow would be on the Mad Path.

I suggest the town either close Riverside Park with a rope or sign, or plow it. A two-minute tow cost $70! I should have called another service station or kept at it with my small emergency shovel. (Thank you, Subaru?) Hopefully, no one else will have the urge to spend quiet time walking the dog on a nice day. It's no big deal though, as I don't mind working for free and my second job should last another month.

By the way, now that President Obama has given over $200 million to Vermont for infrastructure, can we now fix Joslin Hill Road and maybe even the Mad River Shopping Center parking lot? That's what I'd like for Christmas, should I still be in town.
