Heidi Spear inspires me because she has proven she will put in the time and energy needed to address complex issues such as education funding reform and property taxes.
Heidi Spear began working on education funding reform long before she decided to run for the Vermont State House of Representatives. I work with Heidi on the Fayston Elementary School Board, I'm aware of her thoughtful and fiscally responsible approach to the school budget. She took the initiative to hold an Education Funding Forum in February 2014. She went on to engage concerned citizens across the state to form a working group to develop and vet concrete reform proposals. This work includes education quality and equity of opportunity in addition to education funding.
Vermont is at a crossroads with education funding and I believe Heidi Spear will be a valuable and effective leader in solving these problems.
