On Thursday, June 12, the Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) boys’ lacrosse team will compete in the Division II state championships against Burr & Burton Academy. The game takes place at 6 p.m. at Castleton State College.
So far this season, the GMVS boys’ lacrosse team is undefeated. The top-seeded team heads into Thursday’s game with an impressive 13-3 win over number-four seed Rice Memorial High School earlier this week.
Burr & Burton Academy is seeded seventh in the division but will likely test GMVS’ skills in the state championship. When GMVS competed against Burr & Burton on March 28, GMVS held on to the lead in the first half of the game by only one or two goals before finally pulling ahead to an 8-4 win. This is the third time in four years that the GMVS team has advanced to the state championships.
