Harwood varsity gymnastics, coached by Anissa Touchette, hosted their first home meet of the season on Wednesday, December 18, with South Burlington High School. The meet was held at Central Vermont Gymnastics Academy in Waterbury. South Burlington had independent Sara Haggerty traveling with them and Harwood had sophomore Mallory Dutil from Northfield traveling with them.
Harwood has a small, young team this year. Led by two senior captains, Michelle Doney and Haley Aylward, Harwood was pleased to break 100 points. The two captains tied for fourth on beam with a score of 8.1.
Mallory Dutil, independent from Northfield coached by Anissa Touchette, took first on vault with an 8.55, fourth on bars with a 7.5, fifth on beam with an 8.0 and fourth on floor with an 8.3. In the all-around competition, Mallory took third with a 32.35.
Haley Aylward took fifth on vault with an 8.0 and teammate Michelle Doney took sixth with a 7.95. Harwood freshman Nell Tarno took fifth on floor with an 8.15.
Final team scores were South Burlington 124.10, Harwood 107.20.
