Competitors ran the muddy six-tenths of a mile trail between Inverness
to Brambles, across Inverness and back down. This year, the Mad River
Path Association partnered with Sugarbush Resort to stage the triathlon.
Individuals and teams competed in several classes including run, bike as
well as individual and team kayak and canoe, separated by gender.
In the individual male 40 class, Ed Hamilton took first place with a
total time of 2:10:21.5, Jeff Nolan took second place with a total time
of 2:14:28.8 and Larry O'Toole placed third with a total time of
2:40:50.
Justin Beckwith took first place in the individual male kayak class with
a total time of 2:02:19.2, David Sinclair placed second with a total
time of 2:06:35.2 and Chris Peabody earned third place with a total time
of 2:08:48.7.
In the corporate team canoe, Poulin and Associates took first place with
a total time of 2:20:15.7, Optimal Transformers took second with a
total time of 2:20:24 and Optimal Interverters took third with a total
time of 2:21:30.7.
On the female side, Team Ole's took first place in the female team canoe
with a total time of 2:08:08.4 and Vermont Chicks earned second place
with a total time of 2:17:38.1.
In the female team kayak class, Adventure Fox placed first with a total
time of 2:24:49.8, and The Powder Room took second with a total time of
2:28:34.7.
