Presented on November 12, the award is presented to a senior boy and girl who best represent Highlander pride and achievement. Hebert and Mullins, according to Principal Duane Pierson, share almost nothing in terms of types of sports that they play, but share a deep passion for their sports, their teammates, and the world beyond their athletic fields.

Hebert is a two-sport athlete and a world traveler. An outstanding student, she has been involved in an array of community service and leadership programs. She was a Rwandan ambassador, has traveled with European artists, is a current member of Harwood's student government and, as a People to People ambassador, has been invited to attend the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama. This fall she played an important role on Harwood Union's first undefeated and untied field hockey team, helping lead them to a Division 2 state championship. Her coach sees in her a great athlete with outstanding sportsmanship and a great work ethic: a player who is always positive, supportive, striving to be her best, and bringing that out in others.

Mullins has been a three-sport athlete and tremendous student. He is a member of the National Honor Society and ranks in the top 10 of his graduating class. An accomplished musician, he is a member of Harwood's regular Band, the Wind Ensemble, and both the A and B Jazz bands. He is a member of student government and the Interact Club and is about to become an Eagle Scout.
His coach describes him as a "varsity athlete who truly represents all that is great about sport: dedication, teamwork, exceptional work ethic, consistency of effort, and picking yourself up after you fall down." He was a member of the 2007 Division 2 State Soccer Champions and the 2008 State Division 2 Finalist.
Also honored were the following students who were recognized when Harwood held its annual fall sports awards evening.
