Harwood girls also ran well. State Division 2 champion Annie Mendes placed second in the battle of the Annies. Annie Penfield-Cyr of Mt. Mansfield placed first. Annie White of Rutland was third. Coach Kerrigan continues to be impressed by newcomer Chelsea Robinson.Chelsea improved her personal best time by over one minute. Harwood girls' fourth-place finish was supported by Heather Cutler (31), Kelsey Bush (34), Elena Bilodeau (43) and Kim Martin (47). Harwood Girls finished first among D 2 schools.
"Our training is going very well this season. Limiting our participation in meets has saved the school transportation expenses. It has also allowed us to train hard on the hills of South Duxbury without the pressure of having meets two or three times a week," Kerrigan said,
Harwood Cross Country will be taking next Saturday off. Watch for them at the Thetford Woods Trail Run on October 6. This is the largest high school race in Vermont.
