"The school was built on a strong philosophy that a progressive, long-term approach to training and preparation is the school's primary athletic focus. The athletic program also runs hand in hand with a strong academic program that has produced outstanding results in its own right. Their track record of success is impressive, as the 'practice makes perfect' approach has worked once again for these elite athletes," says Steve Utter, GMVS head coach.
In addition to Chelsea and Cody, the Marshalls have one more family member coming up through the junior ski racing ranks. Their younger brother, Tucker, though only a J2 last year, went to nationals snagging a top 10 spot in the giant slalom. The Transues are a racing family as well. Jeremy (nicknamed "Worm") was named Junior of the Year at 2005 nationals, and he later joined the U.S. ski team as a C team member.
In 2007, he won three late season FIS races, positioning him to be a B team member in 2008. His older brother, Josh, was also on the U.S. ski team. Steve Utter continued, "We look forward to watching as these two families go on to become part of ski racing history."
