Jamieson was a captain in track and field hockey, a New England champion and the winner of the Wasson Athletic Award for excellence in athletics and academics. When she graduated with a master's degree in speech language pathology in 1993, she held five school records, had won five America East titles and held the America East meet record in the 400 meters.
In 1989 she was the Catamount MVP and voted Most Improved Runner. In her senior year Ms. Jamieson was honored as the America East Scholar-Athlete as well as earning the Rodney Everhart Award as an outstanding student in her major. In the same year, she was captain and top scorer of the field hockey team. In 1992 and 1993 Amy was an assistant coach for the UVM track team.
Ed Kusiak, retired UVM track and field coach, commented on Amy saying, "Her great leadership skills and warm personality led another New England coach to say, 'She is so good and so nice our kids don't mind being beat by her.'" In her outstanding career Amy was a true ambassador for UVM and a perfect example of what the student athlete is all about."
She is married to Jon Jamieson, mother to Isabel and Anna, and works as a speech language pathologist at Central Vermont Medical Center and has recently become addicted to women's ice hockey.
