When Milo’s second goal found the back of the net with just 17 seconds remaining in the game on February 12, he registered his 100th high school hockey point.

“Reaching the 100-point barrier in high school hockey is an incredible feat, but to hit the mark during your junior season is even more impressive,” his coach Matt Migonis said.

"When our team is in need of a big, game-changing play, Milo is the guy that usually delivers. He's scored several game-tying or winning goals this season in addition to being "the voice" for the team in the locker room and on the bench. His competitiveness and desire to win is addicting and the boys feed off that. I couldn't be happier for him for reaching this milestone,” Migonis added.

During that game at the Ice Center in Waterbury, Griffin Nelson had one goal and one assist, Cooper Browe had one goal and two assists, Eli Herrington had one goal and three assists, Jack Sherman had one goal, Owen Farr had one assist, Josh Dietz had one assist, Chase Ladabouche had one assist and goalie Alex McCabe had 21 saves.

"This was a great redemption game for us after they nipped us 4-3 at Highgate a few weeks ago. The boys were determined to protect home ice and they played that way,” Migonis said.

On Saturday, February 15, Harwood defeated Mount Mansfield Union 5 to 3 at home.

Lavit scored two goals, Farr scored one goal and had one assist, Browe scored one goal, Sherman scored one goal, Herrington had two assists, Birdger Lillard had one assist as did Kaleb Vasseur and Dietz.  Andrew Achilles had 23 saves

"MMU came out flying in the first period and had us on our back foot leading 2-0 halfway through the period. But two goals in the last four minutes of the period got us back even after first period,” Migonis reported.

There was no scoring in the second period.

MMU got the lead again in the third before Harwood pulled away with three straight goals in the third to win its 15th game of the season.

Harwood takes on Missisquoi on February 19 at the Ice Center in Waterbury as The Valley Reporter goes to press.
