The annual Waitsfield Ski and Skate Sale is coming up on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Mad River Glen. The sale is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and tickets for early shopping from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. can be purchased for $10. Sale volunteers get to shop early for free from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Elisa Garcia-Rey, director of the sale said that the early shopping option is very popular with shoppers. Last year 400 early shopping tickets were sold.
New this year is fully digital online registration for consignment items, Kiviranna said. Previously those with consignment items had to go to the school, get a vendor number, provide all their information and tag all their items.
Now people will enter all their items digitally through a new interface and then go the school to get stickers with bar codes for their items. Consignment registration must be completed by October 10 at 10:00 p.m.
“It’s going to make it a lot easier for us to track purchases and sellers can check online on the day of the sale to see which items have sold. That’s a big change for us this year,” Garcia-Rey said.
Also new this year will be refreshments and snacks sold by the Fayston and Warren PTAs, one group in the morning, the other in the afternoon.
Garcia-Rey said that the sale would continue to be a single day for the time being and said that staffing with volunteers for one day was do-able but barely. She said that the school has many new families who may not yet understand the importance of the sale in funding so many PTA school activities.
