The Harwood alpine team was the overall winner of the Essex Carnival this past weekend, February 3 and 4, at Smuggler's Notch, a two-day event, 2/3 giant slalom (GS) and 2/4 slalom (SL). Harwood had outstanding performances both days.
Friday GS, Girls: Piper Beilke, fifth; Laili Iskandarova, eighth; Lauren McMann, ninth; and Jascha Herlihy, 10th.
Friday GS, Boys: Austin Taylor, third; Connor Woolley, fourth; Noah Williams, sixth; and Ian Groom, ninth.
Saturday SL, Girls: Piper Beilke, fourth; Bo Rubenstein, seventh; Jascha Herlihy, 17th; and Lauren McMann, 19th.
Saturday SL, Boys: Austin Taylor, first; Noah Williams, third; Ian Groom, eighth; and Emmanuel Lafficher, 18th.
