Summer art camp at the Fayston school
Summer art camp will be offered to students entering grades one through seven this August at the Fayston Elementary School. Campers will explore a wide variety of fine arts and crafts media, including painting, clay, nature art, jewelry, printmaking and much more. Scholarships and per diem rates are available. Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with additional afternoon childcare available. Contact Nora for more information:
Student art show at Helen Day Art Center in Stowe
The Waitsfield Elementary School will serve as the guest school at the annual student art show at Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, May 3 through 27. An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. For more information visit www.helenday.com/student-art-show. Mad Triathlon for kids
The Mad Triathlon for kids is slated for Saturday, May 12, at Lincoln Peak. Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the race starts at 4 p.m. after the Mad Triathlon. It is co-hosted by Sugarbush Resort and the Mad River Path Association. The event will consist of a fun run and obstacle course. Empty Bowls Dinner
The Empty Bowls Dinner will take place on Thursday, May 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gate House Lodge at Sugarbush. Attendees can support the effort to raise awareness about hunger and food insecurity while eating food from around the world served in ceramic bowls by the staff and students of the Fayston Elementary School. Fayston students have worked with local potter Leslie Montalto to learn about ceramics and create bowls on the potter's wheel and with hand-building techniques.

The Vermont Voltage Soccer Club invites local soccer players to an open tryout April 28 and 29.The open tryouts will be held at the Collins Perley Sports Complex in St. Albans.
