Directed and choreographed by Nick Caycedo, who brings a wealth of experience and creative imagination to the production, “Damn Yankees” tells the story of Joe Boyd, a devoted baseball fan who makes a Faustian bargain, by selling his soul, to help his favorite team, the Washington Senators, win the pennant.

Set in the 1950s, the musical explores themes of love, ambition, and the game that shaped America, all while delivering a timeless score and sense of humor that has delighted audiences for generations. The production will feature a hearty ensemble of characters brought to life by the young student-athletes turned actors.

“The annual theater production is one of the most cherished and long-standing traditions at GMVS. Since 1978 GMVS has spared no effort in creating visually stunning and dynamic musicals. This year, audiences can expect dazzling choreography, intricate set designs, colorful costumes, and above all, heart,” reported Tracy Keller, head of school

"We are incredibly proud of the dedication and talent displayed by our students throughout the rehearsal process," said Keller. "The theater program has been an integral part of the GMVS experience since the beginning when Dave Gavett led our first production, “Godspell.” This year’s production of “Damn Yankees” exemplifies the excellence we strive for in all aspects of our programs."
