The Waitsfield Ski & Skate Sale returns to the Mad River Valley, November 10-11, at Waitsfield Elementary School. The two-day sale draws thousands of skiers and family shoppers locally and from around the Northeast to score preseason deals on clothing and equipment as the first snowflakes begin to fly. Ski & Skate is a nonprofit event and is the primary fundraiser for the Waitsfield PTA.
With numerous vendors participating, shoppers can take advantage of used deals as well as new items at ski-swap prices from outdoor retailers such as Vermont North Ski Shops, Vermont Ski & Sport, MountainOps, Pinnacle Ski & Sports, Turtle Fur, Skida and others to help make winter sports more affordable. But while there will be hundreds of used items available, much of the equipment is actually unused equipment from the visiting vendors.
The sale features a deep bench of expert skiers and riders able to provide shoppers with professional advice and help them navigate through an extensive range of equipment and apparel.
The Waitsfield Ski & Skate Sale draws people from the entire Northeast, from New York to Montreal.
Anyone looking to sell new and used gear in good condition is welcome at the sale. Consignors can drop off their gear at the Waitsfield Elementary School main entrance from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 9. The consignment drop-off process can be sped up by preregistering at W.E.S. during regular school hours any time after November 5.
Hours for the Ski & Skate Sale are Saturday, November 10, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; volunteers may shop from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. On Sunday, sale hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Unsold consignment pickup is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
