Sophie is also involved in the performing arts. She was in both of her middle school musicals and all three high school performances so far. These were all great experiences for her, building certain skills such as public speaking, and she plans on being a part of every theater experience for the rest of her high school years.
She has been in some form of chorus since she was 5 and is currently in the high school choir.
Along with interests in creative aspects, Sophie also plays tennis; she has been playing at the Sugarbush Health and Racquet Club with a coach in a semi-private group for almost seven years and she was on the varsity tennis team last spring.
Sophie grew up in the Tempest Book Shop that her grandparents opened in 1977. It was there that Sophie developed her love for reading and writing.
She has three sisters, a supportive family and a great group of friends who all help her succeed, both academically and personally.
Sophie has known where she wants to go to college for as long as she can remember; it is sort of a family tradition. However, she is not yet entirely sure what she wants to do in college, and that is something she hopes to figure out in the remaining two and a half years of high school.
