Mary G. Edson Pape, 83, died Saturday, August 17, 2013, at her home on Sanborn Road in Northfield. She was born in Northfield on September 26, 1929, the daughter of Sylva and Elizabeth (Jerry) Premont. She attended Northfield schools.
She had been married to Edwin "Buddy" Edson and later, Richard Pape.
She worked many years at the Rabbit Hollow Knitting Mill in Northfield and for Merry Maids in Randolph.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Northfield and over 60-year member of the Loyal Order of Moose Club in Barre, earning all the "degrees" available. She enjoyed, playing bingo, collecting owl memorabilia, dining out, crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include six children, Allen Edson of Enfield, NH, Wayne, Dave, Gregory Edson, all of Northfield, Buster Edson of West Thompson, Maretta Kenney of Northfield; one sister, Eldora Deyo, of Berlin; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by four siblings, Victor Premont, Richard Premont, Lillian Emerson and Norbert Premont.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no calling hours. A memorial service celebrating her life was held Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Kingston Funeral Home, 35 Slate Avenue, Northfield, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her memory to St Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield assisted with the arrangements.
