Bill Minnerly passed away on April 6, 2012. He was born in Yonkers, NY, and attended Roosevelt High School and the University of Connecticut.
Bill, his former wife Pat and their four children moved to Vermont in the summer of 1968. They were the innkeepers of a lodge known as The Bergoff. Eventually they would become owners and changed the name to The Seasons at Sugarbush.
Bill loved to compete in athletics, exceling at basketball and football. He received a full scholarship to play football at UConn. He also loved hunting and fishing and had many, many friends from all walks of life.
Bill is survived by all four of his children: Charlene Minnerly of Newport, RI, Claire Minnerly-Hoser of Chester, VT, Mike and Anne Minnerly of Lincoln, VT, and Cathy Minnerly and Dave Brasington of Foxboro, MA. Bill is survived by his loving partner of the past 13-plus years, Barbara Lee. He had several grandchildren: Ian, Ashli and Emma Hoser of Chester, VT, Sydney Minnerly of Lincoln, VT, and Kyle Minnerly of Foxboro, MA.
Through Bill’s relationship with Barbara Lee, he also had an extended family that he loved. He very much considered them his children and grandchildren. Kathleen and Craig Olson and their three children Lindsey, Laura and Steven. Stacey and Stacey Lee Pittman and their four children Chloe, Alexandra, Reilly and Bridget.
There will be a memorial service for both Bill and Pat Minnerly on June 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snows in Waitsfield, VT. After the memorial service there will be a Celebration of Life at The Seasons at Sugarbush. All friends and family are welcome. For further information please contact Mike Minnerly at
