Richard Saltzman died suddenly October 20, 2011. He was a native New Yorker transplanted to Warren, Vermont, and most recently to Florida. Richard was a graduate of Ohio State University and a veteran of World War II, receiving two purple hearts.
Richard moved with his wife Hanni to Warren in 1967 leaving Manhattan behind. After a few years he opened Mad River Realty on the corner of the Sugarbush Access Road and Route 100 which he ran for almost 25 years. He was an active member of the community as both a member of the Rotary Club and the Masons. Though Richard moved to Florida in his later years, Vermont held a very special place in his heart. He made a point every year of spending at least a few weeks every summer in The Valley, including this past year, and attended every Warren Fourth of July parade since 1968. He was an avid reader and traveler as well as a gifted storyteller and had friends all over the world.
He is survived by his wife Hanni, daughter Kristina, son Alex and brother Ralph. He was loved very much and will be missed.
