John Fletcher Huntsman II, "Jack," of Falmouth, MA (formerly of Rockport, MA, and Waitsfield, VT), born October 22, 1934, passed away peacefully at Falmouth Hospital on May 27, 2011. He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Huntsman of Gloucester, MA, and Johnna Huntsman Cooke of Rockport, Malcolm Cooke of Brookline, and Jack’s beloved granddaughter Madelyn Elizabeth Cook, Jack’s best friend Marianne White of Falmouth, and Andrena Bear Huntsman of Rockport, his former wife and mother of Elizabeth Huntsman and Johnna Huntsman Cooke.
He was a graduate of the Hill School, Brown University and New England College of Law. He was a teacher at Moses Brown School, wrestling coach at Brown University and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Jack was a retired criminal attorney having practiced in Essex and Barnstable Counties. He was inducted into the NE Hall of Fame (VT Wrestling) in 2011 and was an accomplished “Star” boat sailor. He volunteered at Falmouth Hospital and Penikese Island School and was active in the Falmouth Senior Center.
A celebration of his life will be held at Halibut State Park, Rockport, MA, on Saturday, July 16, at 1 p.m. Meet at reserved parking to the left at the entrance.
