Mae Eastman Jennison, 80, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at
the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on Tuesday, February 1,
2011. Born in Waterbury on May 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the
late Alfred and Bertha (Church) Eastman. Mae was married to John
Jennison who passed away on September 14, 1973.
Mae grew up in the Waterbury/Duxbury area and was a graduate of
Waterbury High School. She worked for many years for the National Life
Insurance Co. in Montpelier and then later for the state of Vermont in
the Adjutant General's Office - Veteran's Affairs Division where she
assisted veterans with their benefits, retiring in 2000. Mae also
volunteered for many years for the Department of Public Safety -
Fingerprinting Division in Waterbury.
Her memberships included the Wesley United Methodist Church, the
Waterbury Area Senior Citizens, the Harry N. Cutting American Legion
Auxiliary Unit 59 and AARP.
Mae is survived by her children, David Jennison and his wife Lisa of
Waterbury and Robin Luce Lawrence of Waterbury; her grandchildren, Matt
Luce and his wife Kelly of Duxbury, Maria Jennison and her companion
Garret Folsom of Waterbury, Jennifer Jennison and her fiancé James
Touchette Jr. of Waterbury and her very special great-granddaughter,
Natalie Folsom of Waterbury; her sister, Mickie Elwell and her husband
Adrian of Newport; Patti Tomeny, whom she thought of as a daughter, and
her husband Phill and family who were all very special to her, of
Waterbury; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Mae
felt blessed to be able to live with and be cared for by her
granddaughter, Maria, and by Garret for the past two years. She was
proud to be "GG" to her little Natalie.
Three brothers, Robert, Howard and Burton Eastman, and three sisters,
Marion Self, Phyllis Davis and Betty McNaulty Untiedt, predeceased Mae.
A service of remembrance and celebration will be held from the Wesley
United Methodist Church in Waterbury on February 12, 2011, at 11 a.m.
with a reception to follow in the church dining room. In lieu of
