Lucy Turner-Tinker-Hope, formerly of Warren's Potato Road Association on Prickly Mountain, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in Kirkland, WA, at the age 70, of complications from pneumonia and surrounded by her children, husband and brother.
 
Lucy is survived by her son, John W. Tinker, his wife Christa and their children, Anna and James, of Redmond, WA; her daughter, Dori Tinker Stiles, her husband, Robert, and their children, Julia and Kirsten, of Shrewsbury, MA; her first husband, Allen A. Tinker, of Fayston, VT; her husband, Richard V. Hope, of Vero Beach, FL; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Connie Turner, Philip and Jan Turner, Gail and Tina Turner, Warren and Jo Tinker and Mary and Pete Bryant; Richard's children, Rick, Tom and Chris, Richard's grandchildren who also knew her as "grandma": Ricky, Tim, Kiersten, Billy, TJ, Matt, Nicholas, Laurel and great grandson Chase; her beloved nieces and nephews and their adored spouses and children; her extended family, devoted friends, former colleagues and legions of admirers.
 
Born Lucy B. Turner on April 15, 1940, in Linneus, Missouri, to Joseph and Dorothy Turner; the oldest of four children. She was graduated valedictorian from Linneus High School in 1958 and from Union University in 1962 with a bachelor of arts degree in history. Prior to starting a family, Lucy taught middle school and later, while raising her children in Summit, NJ, pursued a successful and accomplished professional career in banking that included time at City Federal Savings Bank, The Seamen's Bank for Savings, FSB and Penn Federal Savings Banks. From childhood, her dedication to education and the arts led her to participate in, often in leadership positions, numerous charitable and philanthropic organizations. In 2000, Lucy retired as chief operating officer and moved with her new husband to Florida where she has spent the last 10 years continuing to grow and share her infinite gifts and wisdom with those blessed to be acquainted with her. 
 
Services will be held in Vero Beach, FL, on Sunday, January 16; Linneus, MO, on Saturday, January 22; and Summit, NJ, on Saturday, March 5. Details will be communicated via her Caringbridge website (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lucythope).
