Bernice Bisbee Lantman died May 9, 2008, in Venice, Florida, at the age of 104. She was born in Middlesex on February 27, 1904, and taught school in Moretown for several years before she married John Bisbee. Together they owned Bisbee Farm at the intersection of Routes 100 and 100B in Moretown. In addition to being a dairy farm, Bisbee Farm was one of the earliest "tourist homes" in The Valley, catering to summer visitors as well as to the occasional pioneering winter skier.
In the 1980s Bernice and her husband Harry Lantman of Hinesburg spent summers in South Duxbury at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Frederick Pratt, and were active in senior activities in The Valley.
She is survived by her daughter, three grandchildren and eight great-grandsons.
