He was born in Fitchburg, MA, September 20, 1953, the son of the late Asa A. and Isabell A. (Austin) Randall. Ward was a 1972 graduate of the North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA, and served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
Ward resided in Warren and Northfield, Vermont, for several years and for the past 12 years has resided in Littleton, MA, but he would tell you that Warren was the home of his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Maryanne (Wheeler) Randall, and two daughters, Colette Chandonnait and Carrie Randall of Littleton, MA: two sisters, Carolyn Mitiadou and Judith Clark of Norman, Oklahoma, and many other family members and friends whom he cherished.
For the past several years, Mr. Randall worked as a heavy equipment operator, most recently for Lenox Landscaping, Inc. in Acton, MA. Prior to that he worked for Comfort Homes, Inc. in Dracut as well as Prescott Trucking, Inc. in Shirley, MA.
Ward was a member of the Northeast Rockbusters Chapter of the Historical Construction Equipment Association comprised of heavy equipment operators.
He was an avid camper and enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. He especially enjoyed his many trips and visits back to Vermont and the many Fourth of July get-togethers at his cousin Butch Hartshorn's.
His brother, Austin Randall, and his aunt, Kit Hartshorn, predeceased him.
A funeral mass was held January 4, 2008, at St. Anne's Church with a military honors burial at the Westlawn Cemetery in Littleton, MA.
