She was born December 19, 1920, in Exeter, NH. She was the daughter of Clayton and Elnora (Hatch) Luce.
Helene attended Rochester Hollow graded school and graduated from Rochester High School. She continued her education at Goddard College. She married Oliver Maxwell February 15, 1947, in Granville. The Maxwells moved to Braintree in 1954. In earlier years Helene had worked at the Hancock Veneer Mill in Hancock and later at Waterbury Co.'s in Randolph. She was a former member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Moss Glen Grange. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting and reading.
She is survived by an uncle, cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 22, 11 a.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Rochester, with Reverend Greg Homan officiating. There are no calling hours.
