Bruce Geryl Howard, 48, of Fayston, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vermont.
Born in Randolph on March 22, 1858, he was the son of the late Wayland Frank and Geraldine Elsie (Bowen) Howard Tabor.
Bruce attended schools in Randolph and was a graduate of Union 32 High School, Class of 1975.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1980; he was discharged with a Rank of Specialist 4th Class.
He was employed in various jobs. His last employment was for the U.S. Postal Service in Waitsfield, Waterbury and Stowe as a letter carrier.
Bruce enjoyed drawing, fishing and hunting, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Waitsfield-Fayston Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion in Waitsfield.
Survivors include four sons, Todd Howard of Bel Air, MD, Scott Howard and Shiloh Howard, both of Fayston, and Adam of East Roxbury; three step-daughters, Connie Gaylord of Waitsfield; Amy Brooks of Duxbury, and Jennifer Gaylord of Waterbury; two sisters, Penny Howard and Patty LaPerle, both of East Montpelier; two brothers, Malcolm Howard of Hereford, AZ, and Scott Howard of Norwich, CT. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Anne Greene Howard, and one brother, Roland Tabor Jr.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 3, 2006, at 11 p.m. at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer Street, Barre. The Pastor Ronald Rilling of the Green Mountain Gospel Chapel in Randolph will officiate the service.
Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Interment will be in Plain-Mont Cemetery in Easy Montpelier. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Upstate New York and Vermont Chapter, Computer Drive West, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205.
Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, Barre.
