Jeanette Scanlon, 93, passed peacefully at her Marstons Mills, MA, home with family at her side on March 31, 2025. Jeanne was born December 2, 1931, on Long Island, New York, to Francesco and Augusta Prossimo. She met her husband Marty while working as a secretary in New York. They were happily married for 67 years when Marty passed in 2019 at the age of 92. Jean and Marty loved spending time with family and friends at their Cape Cod home in the summer and skiing at Sugarbush in Vermont in the winter. They were the most welcoming of hosts, with Jeanne’s wonderful cooking at the heart of every gathering. Together they created countless cherished memories for all who knew them.
Jeanne’s love and recipes live on in the heart of her surviving daughters; Susan Buchanan and Karen Brown; grandchildren, Tiffany Steinhof, Jason Steinhof, Megan Simisky, Cassina Johnston, and Matthew Brown; and great-grandchildren Rhett and Charlotte Simisky.
