Douglas Paul White
Douglas Paul White, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Franklin on July 20, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Montpelier on July 13, 1953, he was the son of Paul White Sr. and the late Dorothy Bador White.
He is survived by his partner, Leslie Britch, and his children: Heather White Godfrey, Sarah Gallagher and husband Patrick, Zachariah White and wife Quana, Ashley White and husband Dustin, Olivia White, Daniel O’Shaughnessy and fiancée Cameron. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Myles and Eleanor Godfrey, Maeve, Emmett and Callan Gallagher, Sadie and Henry Eckhardt. He is also survived by his father, Paul White Sr., his siblings: Bonnie Irwin and husband Lynn, Donna Provost and husband Roger, Priscilla White and partner Rolf, Brent White and wife Betty, and Paul White Jr. and wife Alison, Leslie’s children: Hillary and Anders Hedberg, Chelsea Pigeon and her children, and Ryan and fiancée Kaylee Sullivan, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In honor of Doug’s generous spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hope Lodge (American Cancer Society, lodging for families of cancer patients), 237 East Avenue, Burlington, Vermont 05401 or a local hospice service of your choice.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at The Landing, 66 Elmore Road in Worcester on August 10 at 1 p.m. with a committal at the Worcester Mountain Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Worcester United Methodist Church Annex.
Doug will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the joy he brought into the lives of so many.
