Lynda Jane Johnson
Lynda Jane Johnson, passed away at home surrounded by family on July 1, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on December 1, 1949, in Brownfield, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Ruth McClung and Arnell Akin.
Lynda was a beloved figure at the Village Grocery, where she looked forward to working a couple days a week. She joyfully greeted customers, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Her love for sewing and knitting brought beauty and comfort to many. Above all, Lynda adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandsons, who filled her life with joy, laughter, and sports. Those who knew Lynda, knew she loved playing the lottery, especially scratch tickets. Scratch one in memory of her.
She is survived by her daughters, Ava Whitcomb, Kara Barker and spouse Charlie, Heather Twombly and spouse Kevin, Tonya Guyette and spouse Scott; 10 grandchildren, Alex, Avery, Ian, Ellie, Connor, Emily, Liam, Ethan, Nolan, and Parker; seven great-grandchildren; and her first husband Frederick Lewis, spouse Marybeth Lewis and their daughter Crystal Goodwin. Lynda was preceded in death by her love, Wayne Johnson, her parents, Ruth and Arnell, and her brother, Dean Akin.
