Ian P. Morrison passed away on August 5, 2022, in Holly Springs, NC, after a difficult battle with a rare form of stomach cancer. He was 51.
Ian was born December 16, 1970, in Charlottesville, VA, to Susanne (Morrison) Wolski and the late Richard P. Morrison. He spent much of his youth in Simsbury, CT, graduating from Simsbury High School in 1989. Ian wrestled in high school and was on the crew team. He even rowed on an eight-man team that went to England to row in the Henley Royal Regatta during his senior year. After high school he attended Rutgers University graduating with an English degree in 1995.
Ian is well-remembered for his biting sense of humor, searing wit, and deep love for sharing good food, wine, and beer with those he cared for. He loved getting to know his niece and nephew after moving to North Carolina to be closer to his brother’s family and introducing them to Dungeons and Dragons.
Ian is survived by his mother, Suzanne, of Waitsfield, VT, brother and sister-in-law, Luke and Colleen Morrison, and niece and nephew, Cameron and Liam, all of Holy Springs, NC, as well as many friends and family members, all of whom miss him fiercely each day.
A celebration of life was held August 12, 2023, at a family cabin in Jackson, NH; a blue spruce was planted in his honor.
