Paula Jean (Sumner) Robinson of Warren, passed away November 4, 2023, just hours before her 60th birthday in her favorite place to be, surrounded by her family. Paula was born November 5, 1963, to Howard and Sandra Sumner. She was the oldest of three and the only girl. Paula and her brothers Brian and Nelson grew up in Warren VIllage and will forever be remembered for that. Paula married Robert Robinson Jr., September 13, 1997, in Warren, VT, surrounded by their family and friends. Although their time was cut short, they spent 26 of her happiest years together.
In Paula’s earlier years she cleaned for Sugarbush. Paula would then spend years behind the deli counter at the Village Grocery before it became too much on her arthritis and she moved to the liquor department at Mehuron’s, which we can all say with confidence was probably her favorite job. She loved the people she met and the relationships she made at both the VG and Mehuron’s. Paula never put anyone before herself even to her last days. Paula was born to be a mom and made sure her children never lacked feeling her love. She moved mountains for all of her children and then her grandchildren as she became a Mammy. One of Paula’s favorite things to talk about again and again was watching her oldest granddaughter accept her high school diploma. She was so proud of anything her grandchildren did and made sure they knew that. She was Mam to many children besides her biological grandchildren, and kept tabs on them on social media. Family was the most important thing to Paula and more than not, you found her with her husband and one of the kids or grandchildren. She was happy doing nothing as long as it involved her husband, children and grandchildren. Our Mom/Mam will forever be missed and we will always hold a void where she should be.
Paula is survived by her husband of 26 years, Robert (Bob) Robinson Jr., her children, Shannon Sumner(Chad Lucier) and their children, Cassie and Hunter of Waitsfield, Laura Herring (Jamie Herring) and their children, Briona/Nuna, Talan and Colton of Barre, James Litchfield and his children Byran of Barre and Bella of Maine, Krista Litchfield and her children Brookie and Benny of Johnson, and Jessica Robinson(Gavin Stanley) and there child, arriving in June as well as his children, Ren and Bell. Paula is also survived by her brother Nelson Sumner, his wife TaLani and their children, Emily (Pete) and Nathan of Bryson City, NC, as well as extended family in NC. She really loved the time she spent living in NC. Paula is survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Brian Sumner.
Paula's family invites everyone to join them on November 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Warren United Church with reception to follow at Warren Town Hall to celebrate her life. Our Mom didn't like the idea of anyone going without food so we ask you to donate to a food shelf of your choice in her name.
