Steven D. Ward
March 22, 1954 – December 25, 2022
Steven D. Ward, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas day, December 25, 2022. Born on March 22, 1954, in Montpelier, he was the son of the late Clayton and Lilla (Bradley) Ward.
Steven grew up in Moretown and attended Harwood Union High School in Duxbury. As a young man he worked for Howard Ferris in Moretown, and later was employed for many years at the Brother's Building Company in Waitsfield, with his many years in the construction industry with Brother's Building Co. he primarily worked as a painter. He retired in 2022.
Steven was a quiet and private person; he enjoyed auto racing and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt. He loved his German shepherd dogs. He could often be found washing his car, this simple task was something that he enjoyed doing.
Steven is loved and mourned by his partner of 38 years, Loretta Keene of Moretown; his brother Edward Ward and his wife, Wanda, of Denison, TX; his two sisters Patricia Migneault of Tolland, CTm and Linda Mann; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
A service celebrating the life of Steven D. Ward will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, at 1 p.m., from the Mountain View Cemetery in Moretown.
