John Murray Schwendler, 62, husband of Michelle Perry Schwendler, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Born in Fort Worth, TX, he was a son of the late Robert George of Buffalo, NY, and Alice (Sis) Schwendler of Waitsfield, VT.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by two sons, Jonathon Andrew Schwendler and Nathaniel Scott Schwendler, both of Simpsonville, SC; sister-in-law Sandy Cameron of Simpsonville, SC; brother-in-law Scott Perry and his wife Heather, of Simpsonville, SC; two brothers, Tom Schwendler of Wilmot, NH, and Dan Schwendler of Shelburne, VT; and aunt Emily Tucker of Randolph, VT.
John was an instrumental component in the Mad River community and member of the coaching staff of the first Harwood Union High School varsity hockey team. In that role, he helped lead the team to the Vermont State Championship in 1986, four years after the program was formed.
A private service will be held for the family in Simpsonville, SC.
