Stephen Peal
1975 - 2021
On October 21, 2021, the Mad River Valley saw a beautiful Celebration of Life for Stephen Peal. Steve passed away suddenly in late August in Vienna, Virginia, where he had been working and living through the COVID pandemic. The song of Steve's life ended much too soon, but what a beautiful song it was. He got a lot out of life in the time he had. He cared deeply for his friends and family and every life he touched was made better for it.
Mark and Alice, Steve’s parents, and his brother Ben and sister Ellen offer our deepest thanks and love to all who attended Steve’s celebration. Special love to Tim O’Donell who organized the event. Also, to Al’s Pals for the music, the band of friends Steve sang and played with. Thanks, too, to John Morris of the Localfolk Smokehouse for use of his wonderful field, to the Mad River Barn for the warm glow of their pizza oven. Our love to all who attended.
We were overwhelmed, not just by the size of the crowd, but by the many hugs, kind words and warm stories about Steve that people shared with us. We saw that Steve in his too short life had influenced many lives and that he had the love of his awesome community of friends here in the Mad River Valley.
Steve is interred at the Waitsfield Common Cemetery.
