J. Peter Mitchell of Brookline, MA, died on March 30, 2021, in Burlington, VT. Peter was born October 30, 1957, to John and Jean Mitchell in Niagara Falls, NY. He grew up in Winchester, MA, graduated from Amherst College in 1979 and The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy in 1981.
Peter lived in Brookline, MA, and Warren, VT, and spent summers on Bear Island in NH. He was a managing director in the Investment Banking Group at Bank of Boston, then the CFO for Longwood Health, working with his wife Judy and living part time in Dubai for many years. He and Judy traveled the world extensively. He loved to cook and was a great photographer, his travels influencing both. He enjoyed skiing and loved spending time with nieces and nephews.
Peter is survived by his wife, Judy Dayton, siblings Tom, Bill and Lisa and their spouses and children. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jean Mitchell.
A memorial service will be scheduled in late June.
