It is with great sadness that the family of John W. Flanagan Jr. reports his passing. He passed away on March 13, 2020, after a long battle with colon cancer. John grew up in The Valley, attending Harwood Union High School. He furthered his education at Phillips Academy, Winchester College, Harvard University, Berkeley and University of Hawaii, becoming a particle physicist. He went to Japan to work at KEK on the particle accelerator where he met his wife, Mika Masueawa. He leaves behind his daughter, Mariko; family, JoAnn and Jim, John and Pam, sister Dawn, brother Kirk and Barbara, plus many relatives and friends. John is physically gone, but his spirit and energy remains.
