Lionel P. Levesque, known as Lee, ChoCho and Pepi, died November 25, 2019, in his hometown of Fort Kent, Maine.
After graduating from Colby College and working in banking, he moved to The Valley in 1970 where he joined the Sugarbush ski patrol. Lee wound up patrolling for 15 years making more beautiful turns than humanly possible in those years. In the off season he was a grounds crewman for the Sugarbush Golf Course and later a painter for Sugarbush.
Every piece of clothing he owned had a trace of “Murphy yellow” on it (those old-timers will recall the chair color). In 1985 he started working in maintenance at the SHaRC and only recently retired in May 2018. His 48 years of continuous employment at Sugarbush is unsurpassed.
Lee was an avid tennis player, road and mountain biker, hiker, snowshoer and lover of all kinds of music. All vintage patrollers will remember his epic Super Bowl parties.
A memorial service will be held in the spring in Fort Kent, Maine.
