Steve Cohen, 85, passed away from a heart attack at his home in New York City during the last week of September. A longtime skier at Sugarbush, he relished the friendships made during his years of serving as a Guest Services Ambassador and as a member of the Sugarbush Racing Club. Steve began his ambassador career in 1994 and volunteered in this capacity until a few years ago. His many other diverse interests had included skydiving and running marathons in his earlier years. He continued to be active for many more years in bicycling and sailing as well as enjoying symphonic music and theater in NYC.
Funeral services are expected to be private. Contributions in his memory may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Inc. in NYC or to Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports at www.vermontadaptive.org. He was particularly grateful to the volunteers from VASS. Without their aid, skiing would not have been possible for him this past season.
