Chase Adam Langdon, 21, passed away in the comfort of his family at UVM Medical Center in Burlington on Wednesday evening, August 21, 2019, following a valiant and courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Chase was born in Manchester, NH, on February 19, 1998, the son of Adam R. Langdon and Heather M. Allen. Spending his early childhood in New Hampshire, he moved to Vermont in August 2011 where he attended schools in Waterbury and was a 2017 graduate of Harwood Union High School in Duxbury. As most young adults begin their next journey choosing a vocation or continued education, Chase faced the diagnosis of cancer. With the support of his family and friends, he faced this significant challenge bravely while enduring multiple treatments in Boston. His dream of serving his country with the military was cut short because of his illness.
Chase enjoyed all things outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping, being in the woods, on a lake, and had a vast interest and respect for firearms. He dreamed of traveling, especially to Scotland, and enjoyed many trips to Disney World and Florida with his mother and sister. His enjoyment of the outdoors was equaled to his love of all things seafood too. Before his last hospitalization he delighted in a seafood dinner with family.
A lifelong animal lover, especially his golden retriever Logan, Chase found great joy in volunteering at Rosina Wallace’s farm on Blush Hill for several seasons.
Chase is loved and mourned by his mother, Heather Allen Rivers of Moretown; his father, Adam R. Langdon of Strafford, NH; his sisters, Lindsey Langdon and Vivienne Rivers of Moretown; his maternal grandparents, Kim and Mike Mason of Waterbury Center and Larry and Carol Lee Allen of Cuttingsville; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Helene Langdon of Loudon, TN; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
A memorial reception will be held from the Blush Hill Country Club, 141 Lonesome Trail, Waterbury, on September 1, 2019, from 2 to 5 p.m. For those who wish, memorial gifts would be appreciated to Central Vermont Humane Society, P.O.
