Larry Scott Robtoy, 58, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Barre on Friday evening, September 21, 2018. Born in Montpelier on November 24, 1959, he was the son of Elaine (Morse) Robtoy and the late Leonard Robtoy.

Larry attended Harwood Union High School. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Combat Engineers from 1978 to 1984. Following his discharge from the service, Larry worked as an aide for several years at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury. He later was employed as a long-distance driver by Bellavance Trucking for over 22 years, retiring due to declining health.

In his leisure time he enjoyed cooking, fishing and camping.

Larry is survived by his mother, Elaine “Sis” Hoadley of Waterbury; his children, Althea Robtoy of Claremont, NH, Spencer Robtoy of Waterbury; a sister, Bonnie Robtoy of Barre; a brother, Lincoln Robtoy of Norwich; as well as nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Robtoy, on August 20, 1994.

Friends are invited to a memorial reception in Larry’s honor on Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Waterbury American Legion.
