Laurie (Thomson) Emery, 71, was born in Glen Cove, Long Island (New York), to John Scandlin Thomson and Patricia Joan Hollander and passed away on Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017. She leaves behind her husband, Daniel Arthur Emery; her daughter, Terri Biggers, and stepchildren, Todd (Donna) Emery, Heather (Curtis) Wilson, Tammy (Michael) Farley and Tanya (Larry) Perry; and her brother, John Jr. (Lynn) Thomson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom, along with the five children she helped raise, were sweet reminders of what’s important in life.
Laurie was active in administrative work for 34 years with the Central VT Regional Planning Commission and retired in 2016. She had many important memories with her colleagues and friends and was grateful for their love and friendship.
Memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Waterbury Congregational Church, 8 North Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05676, or a charity of choice.
