Ronald Dufresne, 76, of Waterbury died February 5, 2017, surrounded by family, including best buddy, grand-dog, Stanley. Born on November 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Harry and Anita (LeBlanc) Dufresne. He graduated from Winooski High School in 1959 and then served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from July 1959 to April 1962. He continued his education, graduating from Johnson State College in 1967, and taught school in Essex Junction, Williamstown and Middlesex. He operated Dufresne's Bakery in Waterbury from 1981 to 2003.

He is survived by his wife, Roaine (Wallace) Dufresne of Xenia, OH, whom he married on September 5, 1964; their children, Julie and husband Don Deardorff of Xenia, OH, Jenn and husband Harold Brett of Kelat, KY, Jeff Dufresne and wife Nicole of Columbia, MD, and Becky Dufresne of Xenia, OH; five grandchildren, Evelyn and husband Zach Pickett, Tim Brett and fiancée Hillary Tyler, Stacey and husband David Erne, Caleb Dufresne, and Nathan Dufresne; as well as great-grandchildren, Shane and Ruth Erne.

A memorial service will be held this summer in Waterbury with a date and time to be announced.
