Kimball "Kim" Wood, 66 passed away January 23, 2017, surrounded by his family in Bradenton, Florida. He was born to the late Edwin "Chip" and Annie (Straw) Wood on October 22, 1950, in Waterbury, Vermont.
Kim was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Upon returning stateside, he earned his living with his considerable carpentry skills in the Mad River Valley of Vermont and Bradenton, Florida. He was quick with a smile and will be remembered for his joyful laugh, deep love for his family and friends and love of having fun.
He was predeceased by his brother, Stewart Wood, and a sister, Edith Gayle. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Lavery) of Bradenton; his son, Buddy (Christine) Wood of Bradenton, and their children, Shelby and Colby; daughter, Kimberly (Richard) Pinder of Clearwater, Florida, and their children, Robert "Robby" Williams, Cody, Devin, Samantha and Eli Pinder; daughter, Donna Wood of Bradenton, and her children, Douglas, Amanda, Jamie and Christopher; daughter, Lynn Hayden of Bradenton; stepsons, James and Tiger Baird of Waitsfield, and their children; stepdaughter, Mistylee Baird of Richmond, Vermont; nephew, Michael (Tesha) Wood of Bradenton, and their children, Jessica, Kaylene and Michael; niece, Joan (Tom) Ball of Bradenton, and their daughter, Heather; niece, Lisa Wood of Wisconsin, and her son, Christopher; sister, Dora (Raymond) Collins of South Royalton, Vermont, and her children and grandchildren, all of the South Royalton area: Ruby and Harvey Ballou (Aaron, Shane); Jo-Ann Miller (Chad, Renée) and partner Mick Therrian; William and Shari Collins (Laural, Julia); Michael and Lori Collins (Ashley, Mikayla, Connor); Raymond and Katie Collins (Grace, Hannah); and numerous dear friends in Vermont and Florida.
A memorial service was held January 27, 2017, in Bradenton. There will be a burial service at the Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont, at a later date.
