Rick Scarzello obitRichard L. Scarzello, 35, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 10, 2016. He was born May 29, 1981, in Burlington, the son of Richard Scarzello and Nancy Wotton Scarzello. Richard was a 1999 graduate of Harwood Union High School.

Richard was employed at Harrison’s in Stowe. His passion was cooking and he was respected as an inspired and creative chef. He loved the outdoors, was good with a gun and enjoyed target shooting. Richard’s sense of humor entertained all who knew him with jokes, goodhearted teasing and an infectious laugh. A voracious reader, he loved books and reading together with his wife, Marianne. There will be a service at the Scarzello family home in Fayston on Thursday, October 20. Arrival is at 2 p.m. with a celebration of his life at their pond at 3 p.m. The service will be followed by a light potluck and BYOB at the house. Appropriate outdoor attire is suggested; conclusion with a bonfire, weather permitting. Bring a favorite photo of Richard for the memory book if possible.
