Todd H. Lavit, 37, left this Earth on June 19, 2016. He was born on August 3, 1978, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, the son of Henry L. Lavit Jr. and Elizabeth Ann (Culver) Lavit.
Todd began his life in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and continued to grow up in Bolton Landing, New York, in the Adirondack Mountains. This gave him a love of nature that would carry him through the rest of his life, leading him to Warren, Vermont. Here, he was proud to raise his four children, Forest Lavit (16), Corinna Lavit (14), Iyah Lavit (11) and Milo Lavit (8). His time in Vermont was spent appreciating the wonders of this natural world, perfecting his craft of fine woodworking, beating on drums and making people laugh.
Todd will be greatly missed by those who love him dearly, including his father of Hancock, New York; his mother of Bolton Landing, New York; his aunt "Banana" of Bolton Landing; his sister, Alicia Lavit of Bolton Landing; his brother, Keith Lavit of Manhattan, New York; his beloved niece, Callie Lavit of Bolton Landing; and the mother of his four beautiful children, Allyson Biondo of Warren. Also surviving are his aunt and uncle, Christa and Howie Lavit in Washington, New Jersey; his aunt, Kathy Harper in Whiting, New Jersey; and many cousins. Todd will also be greatly missed by the many friends whose lives he touched, some for a moment and some for a lifetime.
A celebration of Todd's life will be held on July 6, 2016, from 3 to 8 p.m., at The Conservation Club, 56 Edgecomb Pond Road, Bolton Landing, New York.
