Dick passed away peacefully on May 5, 2016. He was 90 years old. He is loved and mourned by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Van Houten; son, David and his wife Susan; daughter, Lori and her husband Robert; three beautiful granddaughters, Kate, Kristen and Anna; and great-grandson, John.
Dick was born in Leonia, New Jersey, and moved to Wayne, New Jersey, with his wife after college, living in Pines Lake for 37 years. They left New Jersey 23 years ago to live in the Mad River Valley of Vermont.
He worked as an engineer in the aeronautical field and also the glass industry where he introduced innovative quality control systems.
Dick loved to sail, race cars, ski and shoot skeet. He enjoyed a good martini and traveling with Dorothy and was known for his quick wit and love for his family.
