Gary Gallagher Obit  Gary Guy Gallagher, 63, passed away in the comfort of his family at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Born in Burlington on October 17, 1952, he was the son of Pauline (Long) Gallagher and the late Clarence G. Gallagher Jr.

Gary was a 1970 graduate of Harwood Union High School in Duxbury and in his youth was an active member of the Boy Scouts. Gary began his early working career, both as kitchen staff and as a cook, in several restaurants in the Mad River Valley, which included the Beef and Bottle, Tardy’s and the Sugarbush Inn. He later was employed at Sugarbush Resort doing summer trail maintenance and during the winter months as a lift attendant. More recently, he worked at Kingsbury’s Country Store.

Gary’s favorite pastime activities included playing cards, playing softball and horseshoes and he was an avid Red Sox fan.

Gary is loved and mourned by his mother, Pauline Gallagher of Warren; his brothers, Dale Gallagher of Moretown, Paul Gallagher of Montpelier, and Shawn Gallagher and his companion Denise Weaver of Barre; his nieces, Ashley Gallagher of Somerset, Massachusetts, and Kailyn Gallagher of Manchester, New Hampshire; as well as extended family.

Memorial services will be held from Warren United Church on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church dining room. Later inurnment will take place in Warren Village Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts would be appreciated to the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service, P.O.
