Obit Wayne Davies Wayne David Davies passed away in his home in Waitsfield on November 12, 2015, after a long illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1945, to Garfield Davies and the late Arlene (Thompson) Davies. Wayne met Sue (Steffey) Davies in graduate school at Penn State and the two married on August 15, 1970.

In 1967, Wayne graduated from Penn State University and earned his Master of Education in 1976 from the University of Vermont. His professional career took him from marketing and development at The Howard Bank in Burlington to creative director at the Randolph advertising agency, Sullivan Brownell Davies, from which he retired in 2008.

Wayne was an avid hiker, skier and golfer and he loved working the land on his property on the Waitsfield Common where he housed a small herd of calves for the past five summers. He made the most of retirement, embarking on numerous ski and hiking trips to Europe and the western U.S. with his wife. Wayne loved spending time with his family, from golfing and hiking with his son, Brian, in Idaho, to skiing in Colorado with his daughter, Erin (Davies) Cole, granddaughter, Natalie, and son-in-law, Geoff Cole. He was close with his sister, Lynn (Davies) Waite, who lives in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

A memorial hike for Wayne is planned for summer. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Wayne’s memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at www.themmrf.org. To send online condolences visit www.perkinsparker.com.
