Wesley Allan Hall, age 87, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, in Northfield. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on March 15, 1928, the son of Wesley Kilborn and Bertha Dexter (Peacock) Hall. Wesley served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1947 and graduated with a BA from Brown University in 1951. He married Joan Fenner (Stapleton) in 1953. They enjoyed extensive travels together in the U.S. and abroad. Wesley graduated with an MA from the University of Colorado in 1963. He retired as a school administrator from West Hartford, Connecticut, public school system. Wes and Joan moved to Johnson in 1990. Married for 54 years, they enjoyed time at their summer home in Charlestown, Rhode Island, and traveling to visit friends and family around New England and beyond. Joan predeceased Wesley in 2007. Surviving family includes his sister, Marion Dearborn Oliva of Michigan; three daughters, Gwendolyn Hallsmith and husband Michael of Montpelier, Gaylynn Huyghebaert and husband Tom of Royalton and Gretchen Bristol and husband David of Sheffield; three grandchildren, Jessica Huyghebaert, Kelsey Huyghebaert and Dylan Hallsmith; one nephew and three nieces. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Charlestown at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 25. The burial will be at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in N. Kingston, Rhode Island.
