Charles Bennett "Ben" Norman, 80, of Stonington, Connecticut, and Warren, Vermont, died Monday, June 8, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Norman. He was born on November 25, 1934, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, the son of Margot and Charles Bennett Hill Norman. Ben attended the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, graduating with a degree in accounting.
Ben was a certified public accountant who started his career with Peat Marwick in New York City and Portland, Maine, before joining Citizens Utilities in Stamford, Connecticut. He went on to form his own firm with offices in Stamford and later Westport, Connecticut.
Ben lived an active life including skiing, gardening and traveling. He enjoyed the company of many friends and most of all enjoyed spending time with his wife, his sons and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles Bennett Norman and wife Teresa of McLean, Virginia, and their children, Margot Katherine, Caroline Elizabeth and Charles Bennett, and Walter Stephen Norman and wife Winnie of Darien, Connecticut, and their children, Vivienne Ting and Walter Stephen. He is also survived by two sisters, Joan Anne O'Brien and Grace Rosemary Fitzwilliam, both of Port of Spain, Trinidad.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 Main Street, Stonington, Connecticut.
